The NHL has set the order of picks for the 2026 draft, which is a week from today in Buffalo, and the Penguins, as expected, will choose 22nd overall in the first round. Then they will have two picks in the second round: number 39 overall, which they acquired from Winnipeg along with a fourth-round choice next year in a trade for defenseman Luke Schenn; and the 54th overall selection. They will have pick number 86 in the third round, and number 170, acquired in a prior trade with Nashville, in the sixth round.
The Pens have previously traded away selections in the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh rounds.
