This year, the company-wide weeklong charity event exceeded expectations by raising $120,000 this year, bringing the four-year total to $360,000. The company hosted lemonade stands every branch office across the company’s footprint from May 30th to June 6th. S&T Bank CEO Chris McComish said in a statement that “seeing our employees, customers and communities rally around this cause each year is incredibly inspiring.” S&T’s President Dave Antolik added that the events reflected the company’s “people-forward” mission to make a positive impact in the communities they serve.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was inspired by the actions of Alexandra Scott, who was battling cancer at age four and decided to open her own lemonade stand to raise money for childhood cancer research. When Alex passed away, she raised over $1 million. The foundation continues her mission and has raised over $350 million.
