A special town hall meeting will be held tonight in Blairsville to discuss traffic problems related to large trucks rolling through the area.
Tonight’s meeting will look to address some of the complaints citizens have with the increased quarry truck traffic going through Blairsville. The issues range from dust and noise pollution to speeding and running red lights.
In an interview on Indiana in the Morning, Blairsville Mayor Michael Walstrom said that among all the complaints, the speeding and running red lights have been the most prevalent topic, but he said that this meeting is not meant to be anti-trucker as a lot of the behavior is due to the type of contracts that the truckers are trying to fulfill.
The meeting is set for 6 PM at the United Presbyterian Church’s social hall on North Walnut Street.
