Tuesday night, Indiana Borough Council approved a resolution concerning PennDOT funding for the Philadelphia Street corridor.
The motion authorizes Borough Manager Nicole Sipos to serve as the signatory for all documents for the PennDOT Transportation Set-Aside money the borough will receive. The $36,000 Indiana will receive will go towards the purchase of flashing stop signs and purchasing a portable message board. Sipos talked about how they got to the decision to purchase those items.
As far as the Philadelphia Street corridor’s all-red-walk switchover, Sipos said they are on track to make the switchover and reveal the no turn on red signs by the end of June.
The borough also approved two events: The Great Church Outreach event on August 16th at IRMC Park and a Cornhole Tournament and Band concert on Carpenter Avenue on August 22nd.
