Yesterday, the Indiana Elks held their annual Flag Day ceremony.

This year’s event was moved indoors to the Elk Lodge due to the severe weather that rolled through the area. Alan Hicks with the Elks Lodge talked about the significance of the day to him as a retired veteran.
The event featured flags that represented the United States over the years and a performance by the Indiana County Fife and Drum Corps. In attendance for the event was State Representative Jim Struzzi who appreciated the efforts of the Elks lodge.
The event was meant to commemorate the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as our nation’s flag on June 14th, 1777.
