The Indiana Area school board will meet on Monday with an extensive agenda as they prepare for the start of the new school year in August, and some key personnel have tendered their retirement notifications. High school principal Wade McElheny, Eisenhower Elementary principal Erin Eisenman, technology coordinator Randy O’Neal, and transportation & safety coordinator Mike Travis have all filed their papers.
Among other personnel items is the hiring of a full-time athletic trainer.
The board will also consider the expenditure of about $170,000 on food service equipment, mostly at the Senior High.
Finance items include the tax liens for each of the district’s municipalities and the elimination of the driver’s ed program.
The full board meeting will be preceded by work sessions of the Academic & Extracurricular Committee and the Policy & Personnel Committee.
Purchase Line’s school board on Monday will consider adoption of the district’s budget for the upcoming school year.
Other items on an extensive agenda include the hiring of the Junior/Senior High School principal, the basketball coaches for next season and other personnel decisions, and the payment for architectural services for the design of renovations to the high school locker rooms and restrooms and the interior door replacement project.
United’s board holds a voting meeting on Tuesday. Penns Manor’s board will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday.
