One of the suspects charged in connection with a car break-in last November is due in court today for a preliminary hearing in district court.
Court documents show 19-year-old Colin Daugherty of Jeanette is charged with evading arrest or detention on foot and loitering or prowling at night. Indiana Borough Police say he was with 19-year-old William Zahorchak of Homer City going through backyards in the 100 block of Wherle Way trying to break into parked cars. Zahorchak was apprehended first, and police found on him a loaded gun, some of the stolen items and pieces of identification. Charges against Daugherty were filed later on.
Zahorchak pleaded guilty to charges of theft, evading arrest or detention on foot, and selling offensive weapons and is due back in front of Judge Michael Clark on June 29th for sentencing.
