State Police Troop A, which covers most of Indiana and Westmoreland Counties and all of Cambria and Somerset counties, will be taking part in Operation Nighthawk next weekend.
The operation is a two-day training and enforcement effort on June 12th and 13th that is meant to reduce impaired driving. It will combine classroom instruction, workshops on DUI case law and drugged driving, and roving DUI patrols in collaboration with municipal law enforcement partners.
Both state and local police will be out that weekend with DUI enforcement patrols with a significant number of roving patrol vehicles.
