Homer City Borough Council approved the contract to pave parts of the borough this summer at Tuesday night’s meeting.
The paving contract was awarded to Quaker Sales for $33,897.50. $11,671 of that will be paid for through a grant the borough had left over from a few years ago. The schedule this year includes parts of Cooper and Filbert Avenue and work on East Church near Route 119.
It was also announced that Rob Walbeck was resigning his post on council effective immediately. A special meeting will be held on June 29th at 7:00 PM to appoint a new member of council. Borough residents interested in filling the post can submit a letter of interest to the borough office before that meeting. Whomever is appointed will serve until January of 2028.
