United baseball coach Doug McNulty has announced his retirement.
McNulty finishes his eight-year career with the Lions with a record of 81-58 and a Heritage Conference championship in 2021. In a statement, McNulty said that he wanted to thank everyone with the school district, including the players and coaches he’s worked with. “Ultimately, we fell short of bringing a District 6 Championship in baseball to United, but we turned a program that was historically below .500 into one that is respected in District 6.”
He plans on coaching his four-year-old son as he starts T-Ball, but also said “Never say never.”
