Wednesday afternoon, the White Township Supervisors continued the months-long discussion regarding the proposed junk vehicle ordinance.
First advertised in February of this year, the ordinance would define junk, nuisance, or abandoned vehicles, along with parameters for how they could be stored on a township residents’ property. The ordinance is being spoken out against by residents who believe its language obstructs a property owners right to privacy, as well as other issues.
Supervisors received an updated draft ordinance. Township Code Enforcement Officer Johnathan Major talked about some of the differences between the original draft and this new one.
The draft has not yet been approved by the solicitor, and still must go up for advertisement prior to final approval.
The supervisors also recognized Supervisor George Lenz , who received a letter from the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors Resolutions Committee, expressing gratitude for his many years of service.
Supervisors will meet again on June 10th.
