The River Valley School Board approved their 2026-27 preliminary budget that holds the line on taxes.
The spending plan shows expenditures at $37,003,475 and revenues at $38,132,475. Board President Rick Harper said that since they can’t do much about revenues, they will have to look at their expenses to bring the budget into balance.
That budget will go up for advertisement before the board makes a final decision next month.
The board also approved filling nearly 30 positions across different departments, except for the co-athletic directors’ positions. That vote was tabled as one of the directors has “concerns”, according to Harper.
