Indiana Borough’s Planning Department is holding a public meeting tonight to discuss the findings of a pedestrian safety audit.
The audit was conducted by PennDOT Connects in late 2025 to evaluate walking conditions, pedestrian crossings, traffic patterns, accessibility concerns and pedestrian safety risks. That report has been finalized and is now ready for public review.
The Pedestrian Safety Audit was called for after four people were killed in two crashes involving pedestrians in the Philadelphia Street corridor. The report highlights successes and failures along that stretch of state-owned road.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:00 PM at the borough council chambers at the George E. Hood Municipal Building on 8th Street. If you are unable to attend and still wish to comment, you can email planning@indianaboro.com. To read the report, click on the link below.
