A family of six was displaced after a fire on Old Route 119 in Center Township.
Indiana County 911 sent the Homer City, Coral-Graceton, Indiana, Aultman, Black Lick, Brush Valley, and Clyde fire departments out at 2:36 PM along with Citizens’ Ambulance and the county Rapid Intervention Team. Coal Run-McIntyre and Young Township were also on-scene later to provide assistance. Homer City Chief Terry Gardner said that the fire started in the carport and spread to the house.
The carport and its contents were destroyed. The fire did spread along the length of the roof, and that has made the house uninhabitable. No injuries were reported, and no one living there was hurt. Crews did save four pets.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but state police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
