Rates could be increasing for a public transit service in Westmoreland County.
The latest budget proposal for the Westmoreland County Transit Authority include a hike of roughly three percent for Go Westmoreland. The service works like a direct rideshare for elderly and disabled individuals. Right now, the authority charges 16 dollars for rides up to two miles.
Most users pay far less than that, however, as many of the rides are subsidized by state agencies.
