An item appearing on Tuesday’s Homer-Center school board agenda is approval for Homer City Redevelopment to use the Large Group Instruction Room for a “Community Benefits Agreement Meeting” on June 17th.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, Community Benefits Agreements are “legally binding, negotiated agreement(s) between a project proponent/developer and a community…outlining benefits they will receive in return for their support or non-opposition of a project.”
The school board agenda item does not specify whether the proposed agreement would be between the school district and HCR, or would involve some other government entity or a coalition.
If approved, the meeting on June 17th would be from 1 to 4 PM.
