Scattered power outages are being reported this morning in Indiana County.
REA Energy is reporting four outages as of now, with the biggest affecting 774 cooperative members in East Wheatfield, West Wheatfield, Burrell and Brush Valley Townships. There are also 45 outages in Rayne Township for REA, and less than ten in both Grant and Armstrong Townships. Those outages are expected to be restored by 10:18 this morning at the latest. The cause of the outages is unknown.
Meanwhile, Penelec is only seeing 21 outages at this time. Most of them are in Center Township, with a handful also reported in East Wheatfield Township and Homer City Borough. Power is expected to return by noon at the latest.
This comes after 1100 REA Energy customers in Black Lick, Burrell, Conemaugh and Derry Townships were without power due to problems with Penelec losing transmission to one of REA phases at the substation. That lead to two separate outages yesterday morning.
