UPDATE AT 8:45 AM: REA Energy officials reported that their provider Penelec had lost the transmission feed on one of REA’s phases leading into the substation. Repairs have been made and power has been restored to all customers.
WHAT WAS FIRST REPORTED
People in Black Lick, Burrell, Conemaugh and Derry Townships are waking up this morning without power.
REA Energy officials say over 1100 of its customers are affected by the outage that started at 6:14 this morning. No word yet on how the outage started, but officials with REA and Penelec are on their way to the outage site to investigate. Penelec is not reporting any outages to its customers in that area.
Power should be restored to the cooperative members by 10:17 this morning.
