The trial is being delayed for a former Pittsburgh-area funeral director accused of ripping off pet owners.
Criminal hearings for 71-year-old Patrick Vereb are now set to begin in mid-October. Authorities say Vereb took advantage of over 65-hundred pet owners by taking their money for cremation services, disposing of the animals in landfills, and giving the owners ashes that did not belong to their pets.
Vereb is facing felony counts including theft by deception and receiving stolen property.
