Indiana County was well-represented at a spring regional growth summit last week.
The summit was hosted by CAVCON contractors, Noelker and Hull Architects and McKibbin Consulting, and featured a panel discussion with officials from Washington County that was moderated by Southwest PA Commission executive director Rich Fitzgerald. White Township Supervisors President Rich Gallo was on hand as was Byron Stauffer of the County Office of Planning and Development. Gallo said that the talk focused on exploring opportunities for community growth in Western PA, and he said he wanted to see how other communities were dealing with data centers and the opportunities that would impact other businesses.
He added that one lesson he learned at the summit was that the local leaders must be on top of things so that they are ready to take advantage of opportunities.
Other speakers included representatives from the SPC, civil engineering and planning and zoning specialists.
