The Steelers and Aaron Rodgers have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract for the quarterback to return for his 22nd NFL season, his second in Pittsburgh.
Both ESPN and the NFL Network reported the deal on Saturday, with a base salary between $22 million and $23 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and “up to a few million” in incentives. Schefter also says the contract is not yet signed.
Steelers’ OTAs (Organized Team Activities), which can include 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 play, but no contact, will begin on Monday. The team workouts are voluntary and there is no indication of whether or not Rodgers will be there. He cannot participate until he signs the contract. Mandatory minicamp, coming in the middle of the OTA schedule, is June 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
The OTA schedule includes includes ten workouts, May 18th, 20th, 21st, 26th, 28th, and 29th, and June 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th.
