Thomas “Tom” Carl Feulmer, Sr., 83, of Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 23, 2026, at The Fountains.
A son of the late John and Eleanore (Trump) Feulmer, he was born March 12, 1943, in Greensburg.
Tom graduated from Indiana Joint High School in 1961. Two days after graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force. The Air Force sent him to Syracuse University to study as a Russian Linquist and then to serve in intelligence and translation on the Island of Wakkanai in Northern Japan. Following this tour, he returned to Texas and remained there for almost 30 years working in various occupations after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Texas in Arlington. In 1991, he returned to Indiana and married Judith A. Fleming Dotts in 1993 and again in 2023.
Tom had many interests and a variety of skills. He loved the outdoors including fishing and hunting. Tom was well skilled in typewriter and sewing machine repairs. He was a gunsmith, as well as a master at restoring chairs, particularly those that needed to the caned. Woodworking projects were numerous. The love of flying never ended. He completed his first solo flight at the age of 65 at Indiana County-Jimmy Stewart Airport.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Judith A. (Fleming) Dotts Feulmer, of Indiana; a son, Thomas C. Feulmer, Jr., of Dallas, TX; step-children: Sam Dotts and wife Patty, of Blairsville; Chip Dotts and wife Corrina Quist, of Indiana; step-grandchildren: Charlie Dotts, Julie Nickas, A.J. Nickas and Susie Nickas; his siblings: John “Butch” W. Feulmer, Jr. and wife June, of Shelocta; Jerry Feulmer and wife Linda, of Indiana; Mary Feulmer Wilson and husband Randy, of Houston, TX; and Mark Feulmer and wife Robin, of Florida; sisters-in-law, Kathy Feulmer and Lynda Feeney; a brother-in-law, David Thayer; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Feulmer and a sister, Linda Feulmer Thayer.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, with Fr. Scott Lill officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the members of Blairsville Military Service Group immediately following the service. Private interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
