Motions hearings are on the schedule for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas today including a hearing for one suspect in the killing of Hayden Gareffa.
Court documents show Thomas Alan Rivera, who will turn 24 later this month, is set to appear before President Judge Thomas Bianco today. He along with seven others are charged with kidnapping Gareffa from his grandmother’s home on Route 403 in October 20th, 2022, stabbing him and depositing his body in an area of tall weeds and brush along Oneida Mine Road in Brush Valley Township. The hearing today will consider rescinding an omnibus pre-trial motion relief request. He is next due in court in August for a criminal call hearing.
Also due in court today is 24-year-old Patricia Hullenbaugh of Indiana, who is charged with criminal homicide, child endangerment and other crimes for the death of her infant child in 2024. Police said she called 911 saying her child was stuck hanging out of its crib with its face in the mattress. She reportedly later changed her story and admitted to smothering the child with a blanket. She will also be due back in court in August for a criminal call hearing.
