A 32-year-old Rossiter woman is facing multiple theft-related charges after allegedly attempting to break into a store safe and stealing cash from registers at an auto parts store in Punxsutawney, according to police.
ExploresJeffersonPa.Com is reporting Brittney Marie Cochran, a former store manager, was seen on surveillance video on March 11 removing a tool from the sales floor without paying and using it in an unsuccessful 12-minute attempt to access the safe. Investigators also allege she later took cash from registers, resulting in a $100 shortage, and improperly discounted a vehicle part for a friend.
Cochran was arraigned April 27 and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7.
