The new Welcome Center of Indiana County held a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday.
The center is located in the former First Commonwealth Bank’s downtown branch at the intersection of 6th and Philadelphia Streets that was donated to the county by the financial institution. It houses the offices of the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Indiana and the Indiana County Tourist Bureau, who have spent the last few months moving into the new office space.
President of the Chamber of Commerce Mark Hilliard recapped the start of the entire idea during his remarks.
The building also serves as the new permanent home of the Chamber Business Hall of Fame, including a new touch-screen system to access the stories of all the inductees to the hall. It also features a new souvenir shop inside the bank vault.
You can find video of the cutting on our facebook page.
