The Penguins finished a surprising second in the Metro Division after preseason predictions that had them holding a lottery pick in the NHL draft. Their first round draft position will be determined after the playoffs are complete and they will have three picks in the second round, two in the third, none in the fourth or fifth, then one each in the sixth and seventh rounds.
