A 26-year-old New Jersey man is being held without bail after allegedly threatening children at a school bus stop in Punxsutawney, prompting a swift police response and concern from witnesses, according to exploreJeffersonPA.com.
Authorities say Al-Tahiq Nasir-Dwayne Aulston, of Newark, was charged with terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct following the April 27 incident at the intersection of Sycamore and Sutton Streets. Police allege Aulston shouted obscenities and made shooting threats toward a group of children and adults, even mimicking a gun with his hand. Witnesses reportedly rushed children to safety as the situation escalated.
Officers said Aulston appeared agitated but cooperated with authorities and was taken into custody after allegedly discarding a knife. A judge later denied bail, citing him as a danger to both the public and himself, and he remains jailed ahead of a preliminary hearing.
