Indiana County’s unemployment rate went up in the month of February.
According to the state Department of Labor and Industry, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate increased to 4.7% in the month of February, a two-tenths increase over numbers in January. In February of 2025, the unemployment rate was at 4.5%.
By comparison, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was 4.2%n and the federal unemployment rate is 4.4%.
The civilian labor force, which is the number of people working or looking for work, went down by 100 to 35,900, while employment was down by 200 to 34,200 in Indiana County.
