Drivers are seeing a bump in the price of gas this week.
The national average went up by 15 cents to $4.17 a gallon as of this morning, while the statewide average went up by 27 cents from last week to $4.26. Indiana County’s average matches the state-wide average. The lowest average among surrounding counties is Clearfield at $4.23 while the highest in the region is both Cambria and Westmoreland counties at $4.28 a gallon.
Gas prices in our area range from $4.19 to $4.39 a gallon as of this morning, with Sheetz stations at the higher end. In Homer City, while Sheetz is at $4.39, Accent fuels is at $4.19 while Kwik Fill is at $4.15.
The hikes are due to the cost of crude oil increasing to $99.55 a barrel due to the ongoing conflict in the Persian Gulf.
