The Indiana County Municipal Emergency Services Authority has received a top honor from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
ICMESA was honored this week with one of the Governor’s Awards for Excellence. The annual awards recognize local governments and individuals for finding creative ways to improve their communities. 20 communities were recognized this week at an awards ceremony.
ICMESA is the 29-municipality group that was founded in 2023 to strengthen and stabilize countywide Emergency Medical Service delivery. Formally established in 2025, the group is now poised to distribute $1.5 million annually starting this year to EMS providers to improve service readiness, workforce stability and system-wide coordination.
