Alex James Tamsula, 69, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at home. The son of Alex A. Tamsula, and Pauline (Rohaly) Tamsula, he was born on December 12, 1956, in Homestead, PA.
Alex went to Blairsville High School, Class of 1974, and graduated from Indiana University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in Political Science. He was a writer, gifted cartoon artist, film maker, film critic, religious scholar, and he loved to sing.
In the 1980s and 90s, Alex worked for 12 years as a computer assisted draftsman, after which he devoted his life to writing full time. Alex had a love for music and movies, but most of all he loved spending time with his father at the family farm in Blairsville.
He is survived by his brother Mark A. Tamsula (Barbara Rosner). He was preceded in death by his father Alex A. Tamsula and mother Pauline (Rohaly) Tamsula.
A memorial service will be held on May 9, from 1 to 3pm.
