The Penguins have dug themselves a deep hole in their first-round series against the Flyers, and their power play was victimized again last night, failing to score and giving up a short-handed goal.
Paul Steigerwald recaps the loss at PPG Paints Arena.
Coach Dan Muse says the Penguins took a lot of shots, but they misfired a lot…75 shots, many long-distance, and only 27 on goal.
Two Penguins who have yet to suit up in the series are Justin Brazeau, who scored 17 goals this season, and Kevin Hayes, who played late in the season and put up three points in three games. Muse said last night he had not contemplated changing skaters yet.
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby says the Penguins can score, they just haven’t done it enough in this series.
Crosby says playoff hockey is a different experience than the regular season.
Game Three is tomorrow night in Philly. Airtime will be six o’clock on 92.5 FM U92.
