Ronald Rex Ryen, Sr. 89, of Rochester Mills, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at his home.
He was born November 22, 1936 to Harry R and Cecelia (Uhrin) Ryen in Indiana.
Ron was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. He attended Saint Cosmas and Damien Catholic Church in Punxsutawney. Ron was an avid hunter and gun collector. Most of all Ron loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol (McCracken) Ryen, Rochester Mills, three children, Cheryl Shick and husband Brian, Greensburg, Ronald R. Ryen, Jr. and wife Shannon, NC, Daniel C. Ryen and Kimberly, OH, four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ryen, Haley Ryen, Reagan Shick, and Luke Ryen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 3:00-7:00 PM and also on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of a prayer service at 2:00 PM with MSGR Joseph Riccardo, Celebrant, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. Military honors will be provided by the Jefferson County Honor Guard.
Interment will take Place at Greenwood Cemetery in Indiana.
