The cleanup of a nuclear waste site in Armstrong County is expected to take at least six years.
That is according to project leaders with the Army Corps of Engineers. Crews began excavating the fenced-off area in Parks Township earlier this month after extensive planning and safety drills.
Officials will share an update on the project and answer questions from the community during a public meeting on May 6th. That session is happening at the Parks Township Fire Hall, beginning at 6 p.m.
