At a work session Wednesday evening, the White Township Supervisors heard more public comment concerning the proposed junk vehicle ordinance.
The document would define junked, abandoned, or nuisance vehicles, as well as how they are to be stored on a residents property. Some spoke in favor of the ordinance, saying their property values would be affected due to “eye sores” in their neighbors’ yards. Those against it said that the language of the first draft caused concern regarding privacy rights, and that under the ordinance, business owners would be forced to get rid of vehicles they use for work.
Township Manager Chris Anderson said that the work session was productive, and he is certain they will be able to produce an ordinance everyone will be happy with.
Once the supervisors come up with another draft, it will have to go up for advertisement before a final vote can be made.
