The Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Major Case Team is currently investigating a shooting in Geistown Borough and a related DUI crash in Stoneycreek Township, Cambria County.
On April 11, 2026 at approximately 1:09 a.m., members of the Troop A, Ebensburg and Indiana Patrol Units were dispatched to investigate a shooting that occurred in parking lot area of Tulunes in the City, 90 Lulay Street, Geistown Borough as well as a related single-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Ruby Street and Penrod Street in Stoneycreek Township.
Officers with the Stoneycreek Township and Richland Township police departments initially responded and assisted Troopers at both incident scenes.
Upon arrival and investigation, Troopers learned that a 21-year-old male of Johnstown, PA was in the parking lot area of Tulunes in the City when gunshots were fired and the man was shot in his lower back.
Following the shooting, a 22-year-old male of Johnstown, PA, who is an acquaintance of the shooting victim, was attempting to drive the victim to a local hospital in a 2018 Kia Forte sedan when the vehicle crashed into a residential retaining wall at the intersection of Ruby Street and Penrod Street. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was later towed from the scene.
Following the crash, the shooting victim was located and transported to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and the 22-year-old driver was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI (alcohol-related) and drug possession.
The shooting victim was last reported to be in stable condition and is expected to survive.
Troopers and local police officers conducted an area canvass for witnesses and any available evidence and video surveillance and the Troop A Major Case Team was activated to investigate. As of this report, no additional arrests have been made and no firearm has been recovered.
