Along with the fatal crash in White Township, there were three brush fires reported on Friday.
The first was reported on Railroad Street in Green Township at 11:58 AM, with Commodore and Clymer fire departments first called out. Marion Center, Cherry Tree, Cherryhill Township, Plumville, Hope were sent out after the first call to assist. Hastings and Cherry Tree fire departments provided standby detail. Officials say that 3/4ths of an acre of ground were seen on fire along with smaller spot fires along the nearby railway. No word on how it started.
The second was at 12:42 PM on Mitchell Hill Road in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh/East Wheatfield fire departments were dispatched. Details on that fire have not been released.
A third brush fire call was reported outside of Indiana County on Route 259. Clyde and Brush Valley fire departments were dispatched at 2:40 PM.
