Altoona is still looking for its first win of the season as they were routed by Richmond 11-2.
Callan Moss gave the Curve an early 1-0 lead in the second inning with an RBI double that scored Titus Dumitru, but Curve starter Peyton Stumbo gave up three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Three more Richmond runs came in the 4th on three straight hits followed by an error. Derek Berg had a solo shot in the fifth for the Curve, but Richmond’s Bo Davidson had two homers, a solo in the 7th and a three-run shot in the 8th.
Stumbo allowed seven hits, no walks and struck out three in his first start of the season.
The two teams play again tonight with Po-Yu Chen starting for Altoona.
