ICE agents are no longer working at Pittsburgh International Airport.
An airport authority spokesperson says operations were not impacted by the departure of the agents on Tuesday. It remains unclear what the immigration officials were doing at the airport, with facility leaders deferring to the Department of Homeland Security to answer those questions. President Trump previously announced ICE agents would be sent to help with security checkpoints at some U.S. airports.
Lines had been long at several travel hubs as many TSA officials were taking off work because they were not being paid due to the ongoing partial government shutdown.
