RESIDENTS REPORT FIREBALL OVER PA

A bright fireball streaked across the sky over Pennsylvania and several other surrounding states Tuesday afternoon.

The American Meteor Society tracks reported fireballs around the world, and says witnesses in the Keystone State saw a bright flash of lights zip across the sky for several seconds. It eventually disintegrated near the Jersey Shore.

Sightings were also reported in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Washington DC.
