The Indiana Fire Association was dispatched at 12:33 PM to Route 422 between the 119 on-ramp and 286 off-ramp. Fire officials said the truck owner noticed something wasn’t right with the truck, so he pulled over to the side of the road and tried to take a look at what’s going on when the truck caught fire.
Crews were able to knock the fire down fast, but an explosion was reported in connection with the fire. That was due to a propane cylinder on board. While the explosion did give firefighters a scare, there were no injuries reported. The truck was a total loss had to be towed.
