Three people including a firefighter were left injured after a Sunday morning fire in New Kensington.
Flames ignited at a Kennedy Avenue home at around 8:30 a.m. A police officer who was first on the scene woke up a sleeping couple and got them and their dog out of the house. The couple was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of severe smoke inhalation.
A firefighter suffered an injury at the scene that has been described as minor.
