Gas prices have soared above the $4.00 a gallon mark in Indiana County.
GasBuddy.com reports that many gas stations in Indiana and Blairsville are hovering between $4.15 and $4.19 a gallon. Along Route 119 near Homer City, both the Sheetz and Kwik Fill stations have prices at $4.19 while Accent Fuels is offering gas at $3.89. In Clymer, Sheetz is at $4.19 while the One Stop is listed at $3.89.
This comes as the national average exceeds $4.00 a gallon for the first time in four years. The national average is $4.09 this morning according to AAA, while Pennsylvania’s Average is $4.11. Indiana County is around the statewide average at $4.12. Armstrong County has the lowest average in the region at $4.07, with the highest regional average in Westmoreland county at $4.14.
AAA says that crude oil prices have been surging, surpassing $100/barrel, as the conflict in the Middle East continues and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
