Over the last week, the rate of flu activity in Pennsylvania has been rapidly decreasing according to the state Department of Health.
So far this flu season, there have been 133,733 lab-confirmed cases of influenza along with 473 flu-related deaths. For the week ending March 28th, the percent of emergency department visits that resulted in a flu diagnosis has been low for all age groups. As far as Indiana county goes, 419 lab-confirmed cases of flu have been reported.
RSV is seeing a similar trend in Pennsylvania with 27,098 cases reported during the respiratory virus season that started September 28th of last year. For the week ending March 28th, the percent of emergency room visits is also extremely low for all age groups. 46 cases of RSV have been reported in Indiana County this season.
