A house was destroyed in a fire last night in Young Township.
The Coal Run/McIntyre and Iselin fire departments were sent out at 7:53 PM along with the EMA/Hazmat team to a home on McIntyre Road. Aultman and Tunnelton fire departments were sent out two minutes later to assist. In a post on the department’s Facebook page, Coal Run/McIntyre fire officials said that the family living there was able to get out safely, the home and its contents are a compete loss.
Firefighters were sent out again at 3:32 this morning as the fire rekindled. No word yet on the cause of the fire.
Officials added that they will set up a collection at the Coal Run/McIntyre fire department for items that can be used to help the family out. Clothing sizes and a list of items they will need will be posted on their Facebook page later.
On top of that call, there was a call at 7:51 PM on Lovejoy Road in Green Township. Commodore, Clymer, Cherry Tree and Hope fire departments were dispatched along with the RIT team. Commodore fire officials say that an electrical outlet was arcing. Fire damage was contained to the outlet, while crews had to ventilate a little smoke.
