A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for a Clymer woman accused of leaving a dog along a roadside in poor condition.
According to court documents, 31-year-old Palina Williams is charged with felony aggravated cruelty to animals and witness intimidation, misdemeanor invasion of privacy and cruelty to animals and summary counts of cruelty to animals and other pet-related violations for an incident on February 20th. State police said on that day, she abandoned a dog along an unknown road. The dog was found the next day along Valley Road in Green Township and taken into a local veterinarian. The dog was found with two fractures in its pelvis and chicken bones in its stomach. Further investigation revealed that Williams reportedly asked someone else to ditch the dog for her and sent nude photos to the other individual to keep them from talking to police.
Williams has been in jail on $100,000 bail since her arrest on February 24th.
