Mitch Keller wasn’t overly concerned after giving up six earned runs in four innings yesterday in a 10-2 Pirates loss to the Astros. Keller gave up six hits, including two home runs. He walked four and struck out six.
Keller says the revamped Pirates are anxious to get the season underway.

The Pirates optioned reliever Evan Sisk to Indianapolis yesterday and reassigned pitchers Beau Burrows, Michael Darrell-Hicks, Noah Davis and Noah Murdock and catcher Shawn Ross to minor-league camp.
Oneil Cruz returned from his stint in the World Baseball Classic with the Dominican Republic and had a hit for the Pirates yesterday.

In the WBC championship game, Team USA’s Bryce Harper hit a two-run home run in the 8th inning to tie Venezuela at 2-2, but Eugenio Suarez drove in a run with a double in the top of the ninth to give Venezuela its first WBC championship ever.
