Noah Davis couldn’t find the plate yesterday as the Pirates lost to the Twins, 5-1, in Fort Myers, Florida. Davis, a non-roster invitee to Bradenton, gave up all five runs on six hits, a walk, and three hit batsmen, as he threw only 41 strikes on 73 pitches in four innings of work. The big blow was a three-run home run by Tyler Callihan.

The Pirates yesterday optioned infielder Enmanuel Valdez to Indianapolis and reassigned outfielder Dominic Fletcher to minor League camp.
