At a work session Monday night, the Marion Center school board will review a recommendation to approve a new four-year contract between the district and its faculty union, to cover the current school year and the next three, expiring on June 30th, 2029.
There is a also a presentation scheduled on a proposal for installing artificial turf at Dr. John R. Mallino Stadium.
Other items on a busy agenda include consideration of a letter urging the state legislature to pass a bill providing for separate sports championship for boundary and non-boundary schools, as Indiana Area’s board did last week.
The board will discuss the school calendar for the 2026-27 academic year, and the ARIN Intermediate Unit budget, for which Marion Center’s portion would be $44,674, slightly less than the current year.
River Valley’s Policy and Student Activities & Athletics committees will meet tomorrow morning, and the board will hold a committee meeting on Wednesday.
Homer-Center’s Buildings & Grounds Committee will meet Thursday, followed by a full board meeting.
Also on Monday, the I-ACT all-stakeholders meeting happens in the PNC Room at the KCAC in advance of next weekend’s IUPatty’s event.
