Downtown Indiana is celebrating St. Patrick’s day today with its annual parade.
The parade will begin at 11:00 this morning at the intersection of 5th and Philadelphia Street, and march towards 9th street. The parade will include floats, bagpipe bands, other performers, local groups and others marching to celebrate Irish heritage. The event is co-organized by Downtown Indiana and The Coney.
Because of the parade, there will be some detours in place for IndiGo Bus Service as Philadelphia Street is expected to be closed during that time. Those detours include:
Route 1 (outbound) at 10:45 am. Detour across Philadelphia St to 9th St and use Water St to N.5th St.
Route 1 (inbound) at 11:00 am. Detour Water St to 10th St to Oakland Ave.
Stops Missed: Philadelphia St in both directions; Gompers, Elkin, and the Oak Grove.
Route 2 (inbound) at 11:00 am. Detour to Social Center via 10th St.
Stop Missed: Library.
Route 5 (outbound) starting on the 9:20 am loop. Detour on Water St to 4th St before turning out onto Philadelphia St toward East Pike.
Stop Missed: Philadelphia & 5th St.
Route 12 South 7th St. to Church St. to Oakland Ave to School St.
Stops Missed: Post Office, Courthouse, and Gompers.
